Abstract

Praise be to Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and companions, and those who are loyal to him. Language is a human, social phenomenon that undergoes what happens to a living being from birth to strength and weakness. Language is a living being because it lives on the tongues of its speakers, and they are among the living. And its development, and it is a social phenomenon that lives in the arms of society and derives its entity from it, and from its customs and traditions, and the behaviour of its members, as it develops with the development of society. Society does not exist without it, and it may be possible for two languages to exist in a society, each affected by the other, and the so-called linguistic contrast occurs. Language is affected by the nation's civilization, its systems, traditions, mental trends, the degree of its culture, social and economic affairs...etc. Every research development in one of these aspects is not reflected in the expression tool, and therefore languages are considered the truest record of peoples' history. The more a nation's civilization expanded, its language rose, its methods were revitalized, and the arts of speech multiplied, and new words entered it by way of situation, derivation, quotation or borrowing to express new names and ideas.
