Abstract
The autobiography is a significant literary genre that offers profound insights into the lives of individuals, delving into their personal and intellectual journeys. Within Arabic literature, the autobiography holds a unique position, providing a deep understanding of individuals' lives and their social and cultural contexts, among other aspects. In this research, we aim to illuminate the social issues discussed by Dr. Jalal Amin in his autobiography; What Life Has Taught Me. This study focuses on the various social challenges faced by the author throughout his life, including social stratification, education, gender roles, and the social and economic transformations in Egypt and beyond. By analyzing selected excerpts from his autobiography, we will explore how these challenges shaped his social awareness and influenced his perspective.
