This study examines the understanding of scientific indications in Riffat Aijaz’s Mafhoom-ul-Quran in the context of contemporary intellectual and scientific requirements. Mafhoom-ul-Quran is an Urdu translation and explanatory work presented in an accessible style, and available bibliographic descriptions identify it as a six-volume work authored by Riffat Aijaz. The research adopts descriptive, analytical, comparative and critical methods. The Qur’an and Mafhoom-ul-Quran constitute the primary textual sources, while classical commentaries, Arabic lexicons and selected modern scientific discussions are used for comparison. Selected themes include cosmic creation, water and life, embryological development, bees, celestial bodies and environmental balance. The study argues that Qur’anic references to nature invite reflection rather than function as a technical scientific textbook. Contemporary science can therefore illuminate the observational dimension of these verses, but scientific hypotheses should not be imposed as the definitive meaning of revelation. The study concludes that the strength of Aijaz’s approach lies in accessibility and contemporary relevance, while scientific interpretation requires methodological caution, textual context and awareness of the changing nature of scientific models."
